Themed “Cancers in Our Wives, Sisters & Daughters”, this bilingual public forum covered the importance of HPV vaccination, mammogram screening and breast cancer treatment options by guest speakers from the National University Cancer Institute, Singapore and the Ng Teng Fong General Hospital.
On the topic of “When Should My Sister Go For Mammogram”, Dr. Tan stresses the importance of encouraging family members to go for regular mammograms, especially for women above the age of 50. For younger women, a monthly breast self-examination is a good practice to keep up with, so that they can be aware of any changes that are occurring to the breasts.
